AWARD Awards to be held at Semi Permanent
The Australasian Writers and Art Directors Association (AWARD) will increase its presence at the annual Semi Permanent festival of creativity and design from May 2016, in a collaboration that will introduce an annual AWARD showcase to the three-day event and host the annual AWARD Awards ceremony as a new focal point of the festival.

2015 Apma Star Awards Finalists Announced
Finalists for the 2015 APMA Star Awards have now been announced.
Leading the way, Leo Burnett Melbourne secured 12 finalist spots, followed by Momentum Worldwide with seven, and ApolloNation with five.
This year saw four first time entrants progressing to the final stages, including 303Lowe, Edge, Geometry Global New Zealand and The Idea Shed.
Finalists were assessed on strategic relevance, originality, creative execution and effectiveness by a panel of 35 judges, across 17 categories.

2015 Australian Effie Awards Announces 84 Finalists In Round One
Following a full day of intense judging by 100 industry experts, The Communications Council announces 84 finalists from 36 agencies have made it into round two of the Australian Effie Awards.
Finalists now compete for effectiveness awards across 19 categories, assessed by a team of 48 senior marketers, consultants and researchers.

APMA Star Awards Issues 2015 Call For Entries
The Communications Council has today issued a call for entries for the 2015 APMA Star Awards, which will mark the ceremony’s tenth anniversary.
Recognising the most outstanding promotional and experiential marketing work across Australia and New Zealand, entries will be assessed by a panel of industry experts on strategic relevance, originality, creative execution and effectiveness.
Agencies are invited to submit entries until 6.00pm 29 May 2015. All member agencies of The Communications Council are eligible for the APMA discounted member rate for submissions.

Record Number of Gold Pencils Presented at 36th AWARD AWARDS
Held at Sydney’s Town Hall, the ceremony also delivered 96 silver awards and a further 127 bronze.
Whybin\TBWA Group Melbourne led the way with six gold pencils across Promotion and Experiential, Branded Entertainment and Content, PR, and Poster and Outdoor, while Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney followed closely with four gold awards across Film and Video, Creative Innovation, and Direct Marketing. Clemenger BBDO New Zealand, JWT Sydney, Leo Burnett Sydney and Red Fuse Communications Hong Kong each received three golds, while Colenso BBDO, DDB Group Melbourne and FCB New Zealand both received two, and M&C Saatchi Sydney, Ogilvy Beijing and Song Zu all scored one.

The Communications Council And Padc Join Forces In WA
The Communications Council and Perth Advertising and Design Club today announce the consolidation of management of both industry bodies in Western Australia.
PADC will now be powered by The Communications Council in WA, with State Manager Danielle Norrish overseeing the administration of the club, as well as continuing the work of The Communications Council, which delivers AdSchool, AWARD School, the Account Planning Group, Effie Awards and Youngbloods in the state.

2015 AWARD School Heads Announced Information Nights To Run In Sydney, Melbourne And Perth On 12Th February
A team of nine leading industry creatives have been appointed AWARD School Heads, set to lead Australia’s pre-eminent training program for aspiring Creatives, Copywriters and Art Directors across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and Auckland this year.
The announcement comes ahead of three AWARD School information nights which will be held in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth on Thursday 12th February, informing prospective students on course content, entry requirements, and what to expect from the application process.

Enrolments Now Open For Australia’s IPA Foundation Certificate
Enrolments are now open for the IPA Foundation Certificate – The Communications Council’s first online international IPA qualification to launch in Australia.
Considered a rite of passage in the UK advertising industry, the IPA Foundation Certificate has been achieved by more than 11,000 people to date, and is available to professionals in the Australian market for the first time, as part of a landmark partnership between The Communications Council and its UK counterpart, the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA).

Call For Entries For 2015 Australian Effie Awards New Categories Announced
The Communications Council has issued a Call for Entries for the 2015 Australian Effie Awards, with the deadline confirmed as Thursday 23rd April 2015.
Running for the seventh consecutive year, the awards recognise effective campaigns that can demonstrate measurable and outstanding results.
This year’s awards will judge 20 categories, including two new additions: PR-Led Campaign, where unpaid earned activity was the primary driver of the result, and The Effective Advertiser of the Year, to celebrate clients who champion effectiveness.

Tony Hale Appointed Ceo Of The Communications Council
Tony Hale, previously CEO of The Newspaper Works, has been appointed CEO of The Communications Council, Australia’s peak industry body representing marketing communications agencies.
After an extensive, broad reaching search and much interest from a diverse range of candidates, the Board has unanimously agreed that Tony was the standout candidate to take the organisation forward. Future plans for The Communications Council include international partnerships with the IPA and D&AD, the invigoration of our professional development program with international IPA qualifications, the Economic Value of the Industry study, and kicking off 2015 with a Leadership forum with Dan Wieden.
