Australasia’s most acclaimed course for aspiring creatives, AWARD School has kicked off its campaign for 2021 enrolments with a new theme: ‘Enter Raw, Exit Ready’.
The campaign is rolling out across multiple channels in the lead up to AWARD School 2021, run from March to July, and focuses on key up-coming events and activities during February, including the first-ever Indigenous Application Workshop, online and in-real-life Information Nights, and the all-important opening of 2021 applications.
AWARD School Joint National Head Jack Nunn, who created the campaign, said: “AWARD School takes your raw creativity and transforms it into industry-ready thinking. You don’t need prior qualifications or experience, you need raw ideas and determination. And in 12 weeks, you’ll be ready to take the next step into an agency creative department, ready to take your own business idea to the next level, or ready to find out where else a career in commercial creativity can take you.”
Fellow National School Head, Mandie van der Merwe, added: “This year more than ever we’re highlighting the fact that AWARD School is for anyone looking to forge a career in any of the creative industries – so it’s not just limited to advertising. AWARD School doesn’t care how old applicants are, what they’ve studied, where they’ve worked, or where they live. Students are selected purely on one thing; the ideas in their application. Raw ideas and determination are the qualities needed to complete the course.”
2021: A Year of AWARD School Firsts
This year will see a number of exciting firsts for AWARD School.
Indigenous Application Workshop
To build on the success of the AWARD School Indigenous Scholarship Program, now entering its third year, the inaugural Indigenous Application Workshop will be held online on 3 February. This will be a free webinar specifically designed to assist potential Indigenous applicants through the application process and provide all the information they need about the six Indigenous Scholarships available in 2021. Registrations for the Indigenous Application Workshop are now open here.
Free Info Night
The 2021 AWARD School Info Night will be held on 10 February and anyone thinking of applying for AWARD School this year is encouraged to attend this free event to learn more about Australia’s best creative thinking course. It’s a great opportunity to hear from some
of the industry greats including AWARD School Heads and Alumni, with attendees getting their chance to ‘Ask Us Anything’!
Info Night will be held both online and in-person. The online webinar is designed predominantly for Sydney, Melbourne and regional based students, while students in Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane will be able to attend in-person events in those cities (although they also have the option of attending the online webinar). Full details and registrations for the 2021 AWARD School Info Night are available here.
National Online Program
This year will see a return to face-to-face learning across some elements of the course including tutorials and mentoring, complemented by online lectures. In addition, for the first time a national AWARD School fully-online program will also be provided as an option for all successful applicants, regardless of where they live. This follows AWARD School’s move in 2020 to an entirely virtual format, due to COVID-19, which was overwhelmingly regarded as a success. The national online program will be of particular benefit to regional students, however, students in the major capital cities will also be able to apply for the online program if they have a personal preference for learning in a virtual environment.
Further details can be found here.
New Zealand and South East Asia
AWARD School 2021 will also be open for the first time to online students from New Zealand and South East Asia as a result of strong demand. Further details are available here.
New Commercial Creativity Brief
In recognition of the major role creativity plays in the business world, this year’s course will include an exciting and challenging new brief, Commercial Creativity, designed to stimulate the entrepreneurial juices of all AWARD School students.
Returning in 2021 will be one of the most popular new initiatives of 2020, the Legendary Lesson, when more than 30 creative leaders from Australia and around the world sat down – virtually – with all 2020 AWARD School students.
AWARD School is thrilled to welcome Facebook as our major sponsor in 2021 for the third consecutive year.
Steve Coll, Director of Creative Shop ANZ, Facebook, said: “The next crop of graduates from AWARD School will likely be part of seismic and exciting shifts in our industry. Looking at where creativity will go over the next 5 to ten years and the possibilities new technologies like AR and VR will bring, this is one of the most incredible times to be embarking on a career in advertising. It also makes all the effort senior creatives put into AWARD feel all the more worthwhile. Facebook are proud to be the presenting partner again in 2021.”
