Communications Council And Mfa Announce Closer Ties

The Media Federation Australia (MFA) representing media communications agencies, and The Communications Council, the representative of the marketing communications industry, today announced the forging of closer ties.

The peak organisations have reached an agreement that will see the Communications Council and the MFA to more formally align on industry issues and opportunities. The formality of this collaboration will be provided by each industry body offering reciprocal rights on the respective Boards.

Communications Council ‘Circus’dates Announced

Communications Council Appoints New Board Members

The Communications Council, Australia’s peak marketing communications body, today welcomed three new members to its National Board.

As part of the Australasian Promotional Marketing Association (APMA)’s amalgamation with The Communications Council, its Chairman David Lo will be appointed to the Board, currently headed by Chairman Anthony Freedman from Host. APMA Star Awards Winners Announced

On 1 July, the Australasian Promotional Marketing Association celebrated its biggest-ever awards night, honouring some of the cutting edge work being produced by the industry.

Going beyond advertising in traditional media, the DSICA Statement of Responsible Drinking Practices for Alcohol Advertising and Marketing defines the principles for promotional activity on social networking sites; product placement in movies, video games and music videos; the role of energy additives; responsible drinking labelling; and use of the term ‘Schoolies’.

In a world dominated by common sense and rational goals, a big idea to break down the barriers to true self expression and growth, captured the audience’s imagination at the inaugural Battle of Big Thinking, yesterday. In a passionate and provocative presentation, Richard challenged mediocrity, criticized conformity and called on society to break out of the glass houses of routine. AWARD School Kicks Off For 2010

AWARD School 2010 kicked-off in Sydney last night with the announcement of an all-star lecturer line-up, followed by welcome drinks at The Beauchamp.

Following an extensive search, the newly formed industry body, The Communications Council, today confirmed the appointment of a CEO, Daniel Leesong. Leesong comes to the Council from a variety of roles in both industry associations and government positions, most recently being the Chief of Staff for Paul Lennon, immediate past Premier of Tasmania. Other experience includes roles at Tourism Industry Council Tasmania, Distilled Spirits Industry Council of Australia and Australian Hotel Associations where he held management and public affairs roles.
