3) MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AIDER

A Mental Health First Aider (MHFAider®) is a person who has completed a Mental Health First Aid® (MHFA™) course delivered by a Licensed MHFA Instructor. As a MHFAider you have the opportunity to complete an online Accreditation Assessment to become an accredited MHFAider for 3 years.

Selecting and training MHFA Officers does not equate to a workplace 'mental health program'. Volunteers need to form part of your bespoke mental well-being program but ONLY one small part.

Employers have a duty of care towards their employees and are legally obliged to provide a healthy and safe workplace both physically and mentally. This is a legal requirement under work health and safety laws. Contact your State or Territory Work Health and Safety Authority for more information.

4) ACA CODES & COMPLIANCE TRAINING

The ACA Codes and Compliance members-only online workshop is a key component of the ACA’s professional development program and a critical ingredient in maintaining the highest ethical standards for the industry. The workshop is regularly updated and free of charge.

In order to qualify for ACA Accredited Member status, all agencies must commit to making Codes and Compliance training a mandatory aspect of professional development. If this is not something you can do, your application will be rejected.
