Tom Slater appointed Co-Chair of the Commercial Producers Council

The Commercial Producers Council (CPC) has announced the appointment of Tom Slater, Executive Producer at Collider, as its new Co-Chair.

Slater joins Kate Gooden (Partner, Scoundrel), following Martin Box’s (Executive Producer, Finch) completion of a four-year term.

“I’m honoured to step into this role alongside Kate,” said Slater. “The CPC is a vital advocate for production companies across Australia and a platform for addressing industry-wide challenges. I look forward to building on the great work Martin and Kate have led — including initiatives like the Pitching Best Practice guide — and finding new ways to advance opportunities for our members.”

Gooden welcomed the appointment, saying: “It’s fantastic to have Tom on board. Collider is renowned for craft and creativity, and Tom’s energy and perspective will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen the CPC’s voice and member offering.”

Reflecting on his tenure, Box said: “It’s been a privilege to serve CPC members over the past four years and to work closely with Kate and Pip before her. I’m proud of how far the Council has come in growing membership and influence, and I know the CPC is in excellent hands with Tom and Kate leading the way. I’m especially grateful for the support from Mel, our CPC committee manager, and all members who’ve contributed to the Council’s work.”

The CPC has expanded significantly in recent years and now represents over 40 member companies nationwide.
