Summary
In 2009 the GFC hit and iconic, independent radio station FBi was facing significant restructure within 3 months. FBi needed over $500,000 to survive, but had a $0.00 budget to raise funds. FBi knew only 2% of its supporters, donated and donation drives always raised less than $80,000. FBi needed to totally reinvent their fundraising model – and they did. Instead of continuing to ask passionate, but cash-poor supporters for money, FBi instead asked passionate supporters to collectively ask just one music loving, billionaire for the cash, and so „Ask Richard‟ (Branson) was born. FBi raised over $680,000.
