The 2022 Australian Effie Awards are now open for entries, with the closing date confirmed as Thursday, 2 June.
Now in their 14th consecutive year, the Effies celebrate effective creative communications, recognising advertising campaigns that demonstrate outstanding measurable results.
This year, ACA will host a free Effie Launch and Jumpstart Mentoring webinar on March 10, providing potential entrants with all the information they need to craft a winning Effies submission.
The virtual one-hour session will be hosted by ACA CEO Tony Hale, VMLY&R’s Chief Strategy Officer Ali Tilling, and The Monkeys Chief Strategy Officer Fabio Buresti, providing tips for creating a culture that supports the development of a comprehensive Effies entry and crafting a submission that has the potential to win gold.
The Effies should be accessible to any marketer or agency yet it’s often challenging for those who are new to the awards, especially if they are unsure of requirements for building a convincing entry.
Last year’s inaugural Jumpstart Mentoring Program was well received and we look forward to aspiring applicants tuning in to again ask any questions they have as part of making the Effies more accessible to the broader marketing community.

Following the webinar, all prospective entrants in the Effies Jumpstart category will be offered mentoring with an industry leader who has extensive experience in writing winning Effie entries.
This year’s mentors include BMF Australia Head of Effectiveness & Data Strategy Jennifer Rhodes, BetterBriefs Founder Pieter-Paul von Weiler, Host/Havas Chief Strategy Officer Olly Taylor, and BMF-Australia Chief Strategy Officer Christina Aventi.
There are 26 categories available to enter in this year’s Effie Awards, with all categories and related information found online at Effie.org.
The on-time entry deadline is Thursday 2 June. An extended and final deadline of Thursday 16 June will incur a late entry fee.
Round one judging will take place online from 11 to 15 July, with finalists announced on 27 July. Round two Judging is set for 6 September.
All Effies winners will be announced at an awards dinner and presentation in Sydney on Wednesday 19 October. Details of the event will be announced soon.
Advertising Council Australia would like to thank its marquee sponsor, Think TV, for its ongoing support which has been integral to the success of The Effies. ACA would also like to thank its supporting sponsors AdStandards, Google and UnLtd.
