Summary
To overcome complacency about skin cancer, a new campaign targeted Victorians who saw it as 'cancer light'. The strategy used a provocative idea and the line, "When you go out, don't let cancer in," to reframe the risk. Creatively, the campaign was paired with an evolved, education-based call to action: "Once the index hits 3, cover up from UV. Slip, slop, slap, seek, slide." This approach successfully shifted threat and efficacy perceptions, proving that a fresh, insight-driven message can revitalise a long-standing public health issue and drive positive behaviour change.
