Case Study
Summary
In March 2013, only 71% of Aboriginal children in South Australia were fully immunised at 12 months of age. This was 21% less than non-Aboriginal children at the same age. Showpony developed an innovative solution for less than $110,000. We created a gift pack for new Aboriginal mothers that included three grow-suits with printed reminders to get their babies immunised at 2, 4 and 6 months. The results were staggering. By March 2015, almost 92% of Aboriginal children were fully immunised at 12 months. More than the number of non-Aboriginal children. We had officially “closed the gap”.
