Youngbloods WA has enjoyed another successful year, with a calendar full of events seeing great turnouts and high engagement amongst the industry (and those looking to join it).

2018’s event offering struck the balance between education, networking and fun. There was something for everyone and anyone – students and professionals, young and old, and everyone in between.

We brought agencies together to fight it out for glory in a day of school sports carnival activities, an epic clash of amateur rock bands, and our most highly-attended quiz night ever. University and TAFE students also got introductions to the inner workings of an agency across several departments at two major advertisers in Perth, 303 MullenLowe and The Brand Agency.

2018 also saw the creation of a brand new event, The Big Think, in partnership with The Australian Market & Social Research Society, which provided students and young professionals with further understanding of strategic planning and market research, and the opportunities available there.

We also held a new panel discussion event, Big Wigs’ First Five, where students, young professionals and those looking to get ahead in the game heard from industry leaders about their first five years at work, and the steps they took to build successful careers in advertising.

We’d like to thank our sponsors Hit929, Print Logic, APN Outdoor, Beautiful Pictures, Soundbyte Studios, MDS Audio, Seven West Media, Mongrel Creek and Gage Roads for making these events possible, and for their continued support throughout the year.

With our ever-popular PADC Skulls Afterparty still to come, and several new events in the works for next year, the Youngbloods WA committee continues to work hard and play hard for our local industry. See you next year for an even better 2019.
