{"id":14564,"date":"2020-01-12T20:47:18","date_gmt":"2020-01-12T09:47:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.advertisingcouncil.org.au\/?p=14564"},"modified":"2021-02-19T11:12:07","modified_gmt":"2021-02-19T00:12:07","slug":"call-for-entries-for-2020-australian-effie-awards-now-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/advertisingcouncil.org.au\/effies\/news\/call-for-entries-for-2020-australian-effie-awards-now-open\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Entries for 2020 Australian Effie Awards Now Open"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p>The Communications Council has today announced the Call For Entries for the 2020 Australian Effie Awards is now open, with the closing date set for Thursday 16 April.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Now in their 12th consecutive year, the Effies celebrate the effectiveness of creative communications, recognising campaigns that can demonstrate outstanding measurable results.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Following an extensive review of the awards, a new \u2018Challenger Brand\u2019 category has been introduced this year. The new category recognises brands\/businesses (smaller, existing, new, or emerging) that are making inroads against big, established market leaders, taking on \u2018sleeping giants\u2019 or moving into a new productive\/service field beyond their current category and set of competitors to tackle a dominant market player.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>In addition, the \u2018Small Budget\u2019 category has been split into \u2018Micro Budget\u2019 (campaigns with budgets under $100,000) and \u2018Small Budget\u2019 (campaigns with a total budget between $100,000 and $500,000).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>In all, there are 26 categories to enter. Challenger Brands<\/td>\r\n<\/tr>\r\n<\/tbody>\r\n<\/table>\r\n<\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The Communications Council CEO, Tony Hale, said: \u201cThe Australian Effie Awards has become a major annual program for the marketing communications industry in Australia, providing both a showcase and a benchmark for excellence in the area that matters most to our clients \u2013 delivering results. The Australian Effies continues to evolve with the changing nature of marketing communications.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>An extended and final deadline of Thursday 30 April 2020 is available for those unable to meet the initial entry deadline of Thursday 16 April, though a late fee will be incurred. Round One judging will take place online from 9 to 12 June, with finalists announced on 24 June. Round Two Judging is set for 21 July.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>All Effies winners will be announced at an awards dinner and presentation in Sydney on Thursday 3 September 2020.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The Communications Council would like to thank its Marquee Sponsor, Think TV, for its ongoing support which has been integral to the elevated status of the Effies.
