The role

The Executive Technical Producer is responsible for the strategic planning, management, and delivery of complex digital and technical projects across a range of industries. This role provides senior oversight across technical delivery streams, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, commercially, and in alignment with client business objectives.

Working closely with clients, agency partners, developers, designers, and leadership teams, the Executive Technical Producer leads multidisciplinary teams through all phases of project delivery, from discovery and scoping through to implementation, testing, deployment, and post-launch support.

Your responsibilities

Technical Project Leadership

• Lead the delivery of complex custom web builds, digital platforms, systems integrations, ecommerce implementations, and technical transformation projects.
• Oversee end-to-end project execution, including discovery, technical planning, development coordination, QA, deployment, and ongoing optimisation.
• Manage concurrent high-value digital projects across multiple brands and stakeholders within fast-paced agency environments.
• Coordinate cross-functional internal and external teams, including developers, designers, strategists, QA specialists, third-party vendors, and partner agencies.

 

Stakeholder & Account Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, senior stakeholders, and agency partners through clear communication, strategic guidance, and proactive project management.
• Advise clients on technical solutions, delivery approaches, project risks, timelines, and implementation strategies.
• Facilitate workshops and stakeholder meetings to align business objectives, technical requirements, and project deliverables.

Project Planning & Agile Delivery

• Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, forecasting, dependencies, and risk management.
• Lead technical and production teams using Agile and adaptive project management methodologies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, workflow management, and delivery reviews.
• Monitor project performance, manage scope changes, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.

Scoping & Technical Documentation

• Conduct technical discovery sessions and gather business and functional requirements to support project objectives and user needs.
• Prepare and maintain detailed technical and functional documentation, including:
Statements of Work (SOWs)
• Business Requirements Documentation (BRDs)
• Functional Specification Documentation (FSDs)
• User stories and acceptance criteria
• Test plans and QA documentation
• Translate complex technical requirements into clear deliverables for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Commercial & Operational Oversight

• Develop and manage project budgets, estimates, forecasts, and resourcing plans in collaboration with creative, technical, production, and finance teams.
• Support commercial decision-making through accurate project costing, forecasting, and scope management.
• Ensure efficient utilisation of agency resources while maintaining delivery quality and profitability targets.

 

Process Improvement & Governance

• Drive continuous improvement of agency-wide delivery processes, operational workflows, documentation standards, and governance frameworks.
• Establish consistent project management methodologies and best practices across technical and production teams.
• Contribute to the development of scalable internal systems that improve operational efficiency, collaboration, and project delivery outcomes.

Skills

• Extensive experience managing large-scale digital and technical projects within agency, consulting, or digital production environments.
• Strong understanding of custom web development, CMS platforms, ecommerce ecosystems, systems integrations, and digital product delivery.
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary technical and creative teams across complex project environments.
• Advanced stakeholder management, communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, resourcing, and project profitability.
• Highly proficient in Agile delivery methodologies and adaptive project management practices.
